my memory of Chomsky

The article in the Esperanto version of Wikipedia on Noam Chomsky cites my correspondence with him.
Here is the link to that article. (My citation is footnote #35.)
I also have another episode that I have not reported before: When I was was in high school (back in the 1960’s), my Latin teacher, Larry Barnes, mentioned in class that he had some time back attended a conference given by Chomsky on transformational grammar. Mr. Barnes took the occasion to ask Chomsky about applying transformational grammar to Latin, or some such thing, expecting to get some breathtaking insight on this, but the punch line that he delivered to us was that Chomsky waved the question aside, saying “Just use traditional grammar.”
